Destination Wedding In Ranthambore With A Dream Mandap & Heritage Touch
There is something special about pairing raw, medieval fortresses with soft, modern wedding decor. Akash and Tulika’s wedding at Puratan Qila in Ranthambore did exactly that. The couple took the stone walls of the fort and softened them with delicate floral installations, warm candlelight, and a color palette that complemented the rugged Rajasthan landscape. Saaj Weddings ★ 4.9 planned this Ranthambore wedding beautifully, and brought the couple's vision to life.
Meet Akash & Tulika
The couple met in college and wanted their wedding to celebrate their love for nature and historic architecture. Ranthambore's Puratan Qila, with its wild forest backdrops and ancient stone courtyards, provided the perfect blend of raw heritage and intimacy.
Haldi
The celebrations began with a daytime Haldi by the central pool. Heavy drapes in bright yellow and orange marigolds hung from the stone corridors. The couple sat on two elegant small wooden chairs decorated with floral garlands as guests gathered to shower them with flower petals to the sound of local dhol beats.
Mehendi
The Mehendi ceremony was hosted in the fort's main sunlit courtyard. The decor featured custom block-printed cushions, terracotta pots filled with fresh local marigolds, and delicate pastel pink and peach drapes. While Tulika had intricate henna patterns applied, guests enjoyed interactive craft stalls, block-printing workshops, and live Rajasthani folk music.
Sangeet
As night fell, the mood shifted for the Sangeet. The stone walls were lit with warm gold uplighting, and a canopy of fairy lights hung overhead. Local Rajasthani folk artists performed alongside family dances under the night sky. The stage setup utilized the fort’s imposing stone arches, framing it with trailing eucalyptus, white roses, and rows of glowing candles.
Wedding
The wedding took place in the central courtyard, where we created a striking contrast between the rustic stone structure and our delicate, luxury floral installations. The mandap was designed as an open-air dome decorated with trailing greenery, ivory hydrangeas, and blush pink roses. A key highlight was the grand reception stage, built against the towering fortress walls, framed with soft, warm golden lighting, cascading foliage, and crystal chandeliers.
